So be ready for some hassles, I suggest downloading the newest verion 8.03 as soon as possible to avoid the complications I had.
I did encounter some other problems with bouncing to disk (a video we produced with audio when bounced, the video would start in the middle instead of the beginning, and the audio would play from the begginning.?), but then I used another ProTools LE setup with the same session at a friends studio and it worked fine.still clueless to why. So the rack unit is good for the money, however ProTools 8 LE has many problems, some plugins interfere if you have IE 8, which is ridiculous. The DigiDesign Digi 003 Factory audio interface/Pro Tools control surface offers all that at a price any serious amateur or project studio owner can afford. The front panel displays are easily readable, and two headphone outputs is great. The rack unit is sturdy, the mic pre's are okayish, kinda noisy. I have yet to dive into the deeper parts of ProTools but I've only had it like 3 months. Editing is faster for me, the new plugins I have found useful.
#DIGI 003 FACTORY INSTALL#
So I had to contact Digidesign turns out the installer for PC on many of the install discs released have corrupt files, which was causing my problems. So after downl oading the repaired installer, it went fine, sort of.Anyways once everything was running, it works well. Then after four hours of trying to tweek things to get the installer to work, still no success. The 003 factory does come with a nice suite of plug-ins and extras.
#DIGI 003 FACTORY UPDATE#
Ive read somewhere that the 003 had a firmware update sometime.
#DIGI 003 FACTORY MANUAL#
The installer would lock up, and would not install properly even though I was following the intruction manual step by step. digi 003 firmware 003, Mbox 2, Digi 002, original Mbox, Digi 001 (Win).
Anyways, when trying to install ProTools 8 LE, I started having problems. I use a dual core PC with Windows XP, and I have to say despite all the negative thoughts about PC's, I've never ever had one problem within the 5 years I've had the same computer. I feel that no product since has followed in the Digi 003's feature-rich footsteps.Well after selling off all my interfaces and what not to pay for a ProTools setup, I have to say it was quite expensive, even though I got a great deal. I still feel it was a shame that a Digi 00s were not developed after the 003 range. HD I/O systems with either a Control 24 or C|24 cost significantly more. Aspiring Pro Tools users, like myself, who were on a budget got a 003. The Digi 003 was the affordable option in the Pro Tools product range. The 003 wasn't budget but it wasn't completely unaffordable either. Digi 003 Factory Complete Specifications: Connector: Four balanced 1/4 jacks Frequency Response: 0.1dB, 20 Hz - 20kHz Dynamic Range: 104dB / 106dB A. Pro Tools LE software & extra plug-in bundle (Ignition Pack)Īll of these features in a small design for less than £2,000. The Digi 003 was the perfect middle ground studio solution that meant we had the ability to record full-band lineups with 16 inputs (using ADAT) directly into Pro Tools. The ability to connect two sets of monitors He still keeps his 003 as a backup Pro Tools control surface/interface.Īt the time there wasn't any other all-in-one solution studio solution like the Digi 003 Factory. Dan owned both these control surfaces and absolutely adored them. The Digi 003 was the replacement to the outgoing Digi 002.
